Spin Training & UPRT
Build Confidence with Expert Spin Training & Upset Recovery
Spin Training and Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) with Aeroluxe Aviation
At Aeroluxe Aviation, we are committed to enhancing pilot safety and proficiency through specialized training programs. Our American Champion Super Decathlon serves as the ideal platform for obtaining your spin endorsement for a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate and for building confidence in your flying abilities through Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT).
Understanding the Importance of Spin Training and UPRT
Loss of Control In-Flight (LOC-I) remains the leading cause of fatal general aviation accidents, accounting for approximately 70% of all fatal GA accidents. These incidents often result from pilots encountering unusual attitudes or aerodynamic stalls and lacking the necessary training to recover safely. In 2022, there were 137 fatal accidents attributed to loss of control during landing, underscoring the critical need for comprehensive upset recovery training.
Why Choose the American Champion Super Decathlon for Your Training?
- Designed for Aerobatic Training: The Super Decathlon is specifically engineered for aerobatic maneuvers, providing a safe and responsive platform for spin training and upset recovery exercises.
- High G-Tolerance: With a +6 and -5 G load limit, the Super Decathlon allows pilots to experience and recover from high and low G scenarios, which are often encountered in upset conditions.
- Inverted Flight Capability: The aircraft’s design permits inverted flight, enabling training in unusual attitudes that are critical for effective upset recovery.
Our Training Program
It is our strong belief that this training, although not required by the FAA, could prevent over half of the fatalities that occur in general aviation. Our UPRT course is a la carte and usually starts with dynamic stalls, falling leaf and cross-controlled stalls, upsets, and wingovers. We also cover uncoordinated flying techniques, full-developed flat spin entry and recovery, and progress to mild aerobatics. Students will also experience zero-G aileron rolls, inverted flight attitudes, and proper minimal G-loading recoveries from unusual attitudes.
Building proficiency in upset recovery takes time, and typically, around 10 hours in the Super Decathlon will give a pilot confidence in most upset recovery situations. However, any amount of training is incredibly helpful and beneficial to your safety as a pilot.
