Get Your Commercial Pilot License with Aeroluxe Aviation
It’s Time to Get Paid to Fly
Earning your Commercial Pilot License (CPL) is the next step in turning your passion for aviation into a career. At Aeroluxe Aviation, we provide the most efficient and structured commercial training program in the country, allowing you to refine your skills and become a professional aviator.
The Commercial Pilot License allows you to fly for hire, putting your hard-earned certificates to work. Whether your goal is to fly corporate, cargo, charter, aerial survey, or eventually the airlines, this is the foundation for a successful aviation career.
Our mentorship program connects Aeroluxe students with exclusive job opportunities, including the ability to build time through our local partner, Go Skydive Nashville and other commercial flying jobs in our extensive network.
Aeronautical Experience Requirements (Per FAA 61.129)
To qualify for a Commercial Pilot License, the FAA requires a minimum of 250 flight hours, including:
- 100 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC)
- 50 hours of cross-country flight time
- 10 hours of instrument training
- 10 hours of complex or technically advanced aircraft (TAA) training
Two cross-country flights:
- One over 300 nautical miles with landings at three different airports
- One night cross-country of at least 250 nautical miles
- Five hours of night flying and ten night takeoffs/landings
- Three hours of checkride prep with an instructor
While 250 hours is the FAA minimum, most students build additional hours before reaching commercial proficiency.
Aeroluxe’s Dedicated Training Timeline
Our structured training program is designed to make your transition to professional flying as efficient as possible:
- Full-time students: 30-60 days to completion for fresh, Instrument rated pilots.
- Part-time students: Timeline varies based on availability and schedule
- Accelerated program for qualified students: As little as 10 days for students who have met the aeronautical experience requirements and passed the written exam
- Our in-house DPEs and strong network of examiners ensure that your checkride is scheduled without unnecessary delays.
Time Building Network for Commercial Pilot Certificate
To achieve the Commercial Pilot Certificate, a pilot needs a total of 250 flight hours. On average, pilots come to us with around 120 hours of flight time already. Here’s how our Time Building Network works:
- 120 hours can be split with another qualified pilot under FAA 61.51 regulations. This allows you to log all of the time as PIC (Pilot-in-Command) while sharing control of the aircraft.
- After the 120 split hours, we provide 10 hours of dual instruction to help polish your maneuvers and prepare you for the checkride.
Cost Breakdown:
- Split flight time: 120 hours at $100/hr
- Dual instruction: 10 hours at $265/hr (for instructor time)
Total Estimated Cost: $13,500 for the Commercial Pilot Certificate for a fresh instrument pilot.
